Y5 Football Match

In this section...

On the 2nd March 2016 Year 5 football team played Nonsuch Primary School in the 1st round of the cup at Sutton United FC’s football ground. We were all feeling very excited but a bit nervous as it was our first time playing as a team.

We were awarded the kick off. Sadly, Nonsuch primary scored the opening goal. Luke E scored the first goal for us which made the score 1 - 1. After that, the opposition scored again. We came very close to making the score two all but unluckily their keeper saved it. Then, Nonsuch scored once again, which made the score 3 1. Was there any sort of comeback?

After half time, we were keeping the ball more, as a result Josh scored. It was then 3 2. After that, Nonsuch had a corner but Jaiden made a fantastic save just before another corner. Our goalie caught it with ease and booted the ball up the field. This given us another chance of a goal. Then Luke P won the ball and ran up the pitch to score our 3rd goal! It was 3 3! As we went into the final 5 minutes of the game Luke E made a great run down the right wing and passed it to Josh, who slammed it in. WE WERE WINNING! It was 3 – 4 to us. For the remainder of the game, we kept possession until the final whistle was blown.

We had won! What a comeback.
