On behalf of St Cecilia’s PTA, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you all.
We hope, like ours, that your child's years here will be happy ones and that you will want to get involved in helping to raise funds for the school.
The PTA is made up of parents, friends and teachers, who are voted on to the committee at the AGM on an annual basis. The committee then meets regularly throughout the year to discuss ways of fund-raising for the school and offer support at various events.
Any parent is welcome to attend any of our meetings or provide much needed support at any of our events.
Some of our regular fundraising events include:
- Summer fair
- Christmas fair
- Cake sales
- School discos
- Movie events
- Bike rides
We also help out by providing refreshments at events such as:
- Carol service
- Communion breakfast
- New parents evenings
We have, and continue to be very successful in our fundraising efforts. Two of our most recent and proudest donations have been the purchase of brand new playhouses and a sensory room. Other donations we have recently made include:
- Annual payments towards transport for the Year 6 field trip
- Annual payments towards equipment and costumes for the Year 6 drama production
- Money to buy equipment for outdoor learning in numeracy
- Netball, football and swimming kits
- Sports banners
- Leavers gifts
- Computer equipment
- Plants for the garden area
We are also very excited to announce that our latest project will be to support the school in providing a ‘Hide’ in the exploration area. This can then be used by the whole school for observation and activities involving the outdoor classroom.
We could not be this successful without the dedication and commitment of our small team of PTA committee members and volunteers and we would always want to encourage new people with fresh ideas to join us.
